The Sneakers
The sneakers, on the wall arrayed
With heightened soles, make me afraid
They won’t be comfortable at all
Or worse, they might just make me fall.
When styles appear that seem improved
And expectations might have moved,
The target audience is young,
Which I do not belong among.
Nobody cares what I might buy
And thus, that is the reason why
When searching for a brand-new shoe,
I’ll focus on the tried and true.
