The Snake Charmer

A Macedonian Queen a Cleopatra with a bob and a liner scream
with a sash of silk and a cleavage that caused grown men to cry
she was the epitome of mystery in a charming world of dream
on her upper arm a covet band of gold, with a solid snake decry

her gold flecked eyes of blue did capture the reptilian audience
inside the upper room of Rome, a cobra rose in a small cane basket
volcanic ash, lime and seawater, both concrete and clairaudient
a cobra with ancient serpent codes, in a sarcophagus casket

secrets of ancient Rome held safe in Pharaohs Pyramids of gold,
Cleopatra and the snake charmer, greatest story ever told...

I really enjoyed your poem Vie. I admire all things Egyptian and I would love to own a snake jewelery that wraps around the upper arm. I found a silver snake ring and I really enjoy wearing it. It reminds me of Egypt and Cleopatra. Outstanding poem I hope to see high on the winners list my friend. Blessings xxoo
