The Smell of Life

I saw it when I was there,
Dolphins jumping through
there shadows with the light
of sunset behind them.

Pelicans flying low as war planes
heading for there summit.

Hummingbirds taking time with
rapid winged flutters,to taste
the nectar of flowers.

I owned the moment,a steaming cup of coffee,
shoreline fog and the finger of waves crawling
toward me taking me to a purpose, taking me to life.
