The Slender Loris
The slender loris loves the night
In Indian forests where
It shuns the light
And gingerly places each thin
And lanky little limb
On branches that bear
Gifts of food, especially insects
That the feather-weight loris
Inspects with enormous eyes
Wide with continual surprise
At nature’s amazing features,
Including that most mysterious
Of creatures, the elusive,
Magical loris.
