The Sky, What a Beautiful Thing
In the daytime sky,
singing birds fly and flutter their wings,
as their feathers shimmer in the shining sunlight.
The leaves of the treetops that grow from the branches,
reach for the warmth of the bright sun rays.
Flowers with petals so delicate and stems so long,
rise above the grass to show their beautiful faces.
Floating throughout that endless blue sky,
white clouds run with the wind.
And maybe if the rain has left in time,
a rainbow is ready to show its colors to the world.
In the nighttime sky,
a large handful of sparkles appear,
these stars thrown onto endless darkness.
The blue sky turned to deep blackness,
one shining light of the night keeping the shadows away.
With the twinkling stars of the dark sky,
the moon, like a spotlight on a black lake,
brightens the places where shadows hide.
While the stars and moon watch from their world above,
everyone and everything below,
goes to sleep, safe for the night.
The sky, what a beautiful thing.
