"flower power" - these words sum it all up, don't they? Hugs, Julia, xx

I'm balding as well, my friend! My dad started balding at 18 years of age - and I have his same hairline! Though if you want I could grow out my beard and put some flowers in it - I hear that's becoming popular with modern day hipsters :)

Hahaha... isn't there a saying that goes, "If you remember life in the 60s then you couldn't have actually lived in that time.".... :) This may have been closer to the 70s, I'm not sure, but I enjoy The Steve Miller Band, Creedence Clearwater, Revival - that song Never Been To Spain by Three Dog Night. The lyrics?? A bit incomprehensible and nonsensical... but the sheer musical talent, I believe, was stronger back then.

Creedence Clearwater Revival were among my favourites; but then there were so many that it's an endless list, catering for all moods and occasions. It's true that some lyrics were so and so, but the musical talent was high up there! ... love and peace...and wear some flowers in your hair (I can't...losing most of it!) cheers // paul

Unlike Maurice I wasn't there - but I still enjoy it's music! Pretty fascinating just how you much you capture in seven words. That's why I love poetry like haiku, tanka footles etc. - it teaches one to do more with their words since there's so few that you can use. Well written, Paul!

Thank you Timothy. I am attracted to short poetry forms. / The music of the 60s is still very popular today; some songs will never lose their beauty and allure. [Maurice is slightly younger than me, so his mind is all there!!!:))] // paul

Dear Paul, you described the '60s perfectly. That Berlin Wall was quite the stain on efforts to communicate and interact with "iron curtain" countries. It wasn't until 1987 that Pres. Reagan called on Gorbachev to tear down that wall. The tearing down of taboos is another noteworthy aspect of the '60s and I will forever be a flower child. Best wishes in the contest, my friend. Love, Carolyn

Hi Carolyn! Glad you like my Sixties Footles:) We both lived those fascinating years that so effected our lives; and I still recall them with a feeling of joy and freedom. Who can forget the Berlin Wall and the Cold War? Gorbachev did a lot later on to remedy the situation...I well remember when Bush & Gorbachev met in Malta to declare an end to hostilities. [Oh! and I can picture Carolyn with flowers in her hair:)] Love & Peace // paul
