The Singing Card
You see, an exchange of young hearts
Calls for flaunt and display
After a long wait, finally
It was Valentines Day
Painted my lips a pretty pink
Curled my hair overnight
For young lads with hearts in their hands
I must have been a sight
He came to pick me at five sharp
With a solitary red rose
And an envelope, very pink
That's my color, he knows
He gently kissed my cheek as I
Opened the envelope
‘To my sweetheart’ the pink card said
I was high without dope
‘You are so beautiful’, so it
Sang out clear, loud and wide
I blushed deep red, he quickly said
I meant from the inside
A girl needs to hear she's pretty
Her eyes gems,her skin silk
Inner beauty save for later
I blabbered in deep sulk
