The Silent Struggle

A night so bewitching
As the shadows cast a sense of dominance
Doors that rattle and bars that won’t bend
Clawing and struggling in the frightful physical structure
She is the caged rat
Waiting in the lab as though she was forced to eat rotten food
Ailments lay a bed of warning
The daily strife that starts the mourning
Of the death that waits
Inside so hopeless and safe when left alone
When left alone
For her heart would rise if let out of the demise
But for now she fights in silence

Struggles like that test our faith to the hilt. For loved ones, there's sense of helplessness. For the person, there's a period of coming face t face with their own mortality. Well written. Vince

Gosh Laura, this is powerful. So much an inside look at a very difficult disease to bear, or to even have a loved one suffer from. Disturbing and upsetting, and so sad for many. Excellent write. Love, Shar

Hi Laura Wow! The imagery in this is quite astounding. Gives the feeling of being pinned in helpless unto itself, dependent yet within the aloneness a strong spirit that yearns to break free. As I was reading this I wanted so to free the little rat....saddend I could not....Excellent write Laura! Love Light Truth Patricia, Thanks for your support and comments as usual. Just got back from a trip from Valdez Alaska.

Yikes, whatever this is about, sounds dreadful and so closed in - I got claustraphobic just reading it - so dark and so sad. Well weitten, Laura, love Kristin :)
