The Silence of the Lambs

In the chain of creation we pave the way for their very existence
Yet, we can remain a stranger to them in this world of empty distractions
It is not that they do not occasionally seize upon a thought of others
But only on rare occasion might they act upon that thought
As has been the way of passage throughout these many thousands of years
The silence of the lambs continues as does the sadness that it fosters
