The Silence

Beyond the sunset, where shadows die
And birth is given to the night
The moon hides her face, as the stars begin to cry
In mourning, for her beautiful light

Then from out of the darkness, a quiet decends
A quiet, not heard by the day
A silence so pure, even the noise defends
Until the noise is chased away

Not even a breeze, to awaken the leaves
Nor dew to fall on the ground
A still like no other, that no one perceives
A complete absence of sound

Even the echo is holding his breath
For he feels that this is his duty
A silence so clear, it awakens death
To witness this thing of pure beauty

Then finally the stillness gives way to a sound
The first noise that the silence could find
This noise is your thoughts, this poem has found
For they're dripping right out of your mind
