The Sign - It Must Be

Walking down a mountain trail

barely there and ever fading

absorbing nature's beauty

far ahead I see a sign

"Oh good"' I think

"It'll tell me where I'm going,

and how far to the next lookout

or waterfall."

When I get there

I see no sign

but I wonder,

Was that a sign?

Then a bird begins to sing

like I've never heard before.

You captured the experience of a mountain path so perfectly. And life's " barely there" perplexing turns too. I loved reading it.

This was interesting! I took a meaning from it about wandering down life's path and not knowing where to turn or what to do. I don't know if that's what you were intending, but it was beautiful. Thank you.
