The Shout of Silence

I started to clap, but no-one joined in.
Do people not do that here? I asked.
But at least my applause was genuine,
Unlike a round with which one is tasked --
Pressure to buy several pints, feeling casked,
Pegged to a keg of expectation
When all you want is icy hydration.
Not feeling awkward as the odd one out
Is one of my social aspirations
When silence distorts one sound as a shout.

When appreciation springs from the heart, we clap. Though a round of applause is expected, every other person keeps silence. Sometimes it is better to be the odd one out. Well composed, dear Terry. Thank you for your visit to my page.🙏

Appreciation springing from the heart is the best kind of applause over the expected one, I Think. I'm glad you think my dizain is well composed, and your comment has made me feel motivated to upload a freshly written one. Thanks very much for your comment, and I'll hopefully visit your page again soon! 🙏

Dear Terry, The way you weave metaphors about expectations of societal norms with being the odd one out ~ unfamiliar with the traditional logic is incredibly unique, i also like the title very much. And there is an effortless flow to this. Pleasure reading you today Sending you light always 💫
