Yalto" is a minimalist, semi-staccato, pithy poetry form used to tell a story, make a statement/complete a thought, create an image/paint a vivid portrait, etc. 

 

 Lines 1-15: 3,4,2,4,5,3,2,3,2,3,3,5,6,1,5 syllables

The Shape Beneath My Feet

Dusk finds me
     Life settles down
          The light
                It turns from me
                     Something stirs below

Darken sky
     One eye
          Ember gaze
               No fear
                    It knows me

Close calm sure
     A familiar shape
          Dark wings gather around

Home.
One wing guards them all.
