The Shadows Of Betrayal
Forever feelings are lost forever,
in the shadows of betrayal.
He thought he was being clever
but deceit leaves a telltale trail.
And anxieties begin to rise;
for trust has been wounded by betrayal's lies;
and love can't resurrect it: once it dies.
A darkness descends, blocking love's light,
and you know things aren't right:
for all you do lately: is fight.
There is no trace of love whatsoever,
and as reality lifts hope's veil;
he becomes deaf to your cries:
so, take back his key and lock your door tonight.
