The Shadows

Whispers in the darkness,
the shadows they move in.
haunting echoes of my heartbeat
falling on deaf ears.
The darkness it enfolds me,
Casting bitterness within my heart.
I am a shadow of my former self.
An empty and hollow husk,
Cracked and broken beyond repair.
Leave me in the shadows
Let me stay here,
Until the day death claims me
And I no longer care.
