The Shadow

He sits
A lonely shadow
Tortured by his own mind
Isolated by choice
A lost soul
Longing to be understood

His heart is darkened by sorrow
The depths of despair he now knows
He wears a mask
To hide his true feelings
Does not dare to think about the truth
From his own thoughts he cannot escape

He feels regret
Unimaginable pain
Silent screaming
Night and day
No one will hear
No one can help
He sits
A lonely shadow
A shell of the man he once knew
