The Serial Killer

The Serial Killer (Duplex)

Daily
he waits
for night
to come
and then,
shrouded
in pitch
darkness
or pale
moonlight,
he goes
in search
of prey
striking
swiftly
without
mercy.

His needs
appeased,
the great
horned owl
puts his
conscience
to rest.
Remorse?
He does
not give
a hoot.

Reminds me of Mac the Knife, and in the end he doesn't give a hoot. I love the twist at the end. Did not see that coming. Great duplex Paul....Maria PS What type of songs do you write?
Callus Avatar

Thank you, Maria. That twist caught even me by surprise:) I only write lyrics for songs (mostly in English and Maltese); usually I write and adept myself to prewritten varying genres of melodies/music. Regards // paul
