The Secrets She Kept

She dreamed of living in an un-fragile state,
And most would say this wasn’t her fate

Pierced by the words of those unfavored
She constantly wondered, would she be able?

To free herself from all the unkind, or will burdens take her piece at a time
Time is only a fragment at best, but time is all she really has left

To un-wedge, the knives stuck in her back
Or to heal the wounds her parents have left

I can’t convey the degree of her fate,
But I do know, that she can be saved

Saved from the burdens, and knives that caused pain
She's determined to be someone, someday
