What is it? What could it be?
something special in the recipe
Is it from Gramps or Grandma
dear Mom or sneaky from Pa
That unique taste special blend
did you get it online or from a friend
Not quite vanilla or cinnamon
just a pinch of flavor a smidgen
Not to sweet or even sour
but boy oh boy does it have power
Did it come from the orient or France
so good makes your tongue dance
Almond extract just a touch
nutmeg but don't use much
Brown sugar with cayenne
lemon peel or soy sauce from Japan
What is this special spice
should I ask Alexia for advice
Whatever it is makes eating good
happy taste buds are understood
Gather around now don't shove
the secret ingredient it's made with love...
