The Search For Happiness

My whole life has been a search for happiness,
a simple thing, nothing more, nothing less...
I did actually find it, once or twice,
It was very fleeting but extremely nice.
I long to give and receive love,
both in equal measure,
a seldom found thing,
of which to treasure.
To be free of worry ,
free of woe.
A state of being, I just don't know.
To be treated nice,
to be treated right.
A life where there's no need to fight.
When I see people who look happy ( and content )
I stop and wish that it could be me. ( and how my life was meant to be . )
