The Sea Won'T Float Me

all will float upon the mighty sea
even an ship but won’t float me
ducks can ride upon the gentle swells
but it won’t take me , only its shells

driftwood resting upon the shore
eagles heading up to soar
stars are out and seem to float
I could sail under if I had a boat.

The ark carried the animals across the sea
but it won’t take mercy upon me
whales and seals marvel the buoyancy
but to me the sea shows no leniency.

the winds also have turned me down
can’t float on them so I would drown
no matter what I try to do I fail
if I had wings I could surf and sail.

what is it with me that the sea does not like
if I could walk on water, I could take a hike
more than ever I want to lie upon the sea
but never will it take just me
