The Sea She Waits For Me

The sea she waits for me
With breath as deep as memory
And when the shadows run
Upon the sonnets of her face
I find no hour can replace
The season that is she
Though fall and winter’y air awake
For there are seasons like to sea
Not summer sweetness or fall in memory
But tis a season in the soul
Like sea whose depth we cannot know
Thus sea when midnight takes the world
And its depth seems deeper still
I find my mortal spirit stirred
By depths of season like to her
Thus there is season, and there is sea
Both by reason seem to me
Like she who waits for me
Like sea with wave hypnotically
--like sea I know she waits for me
With depth I cannot reach.
