The Scourge

as you stand still, i move within and throughout you, slipping into the spaces you have yet to discover about yourself. i cling to the hollowed spaces, sinking my teeth into the soft, immature lining of your personality, and i fill those secret parts of you with a debilitating venom. you still have yet to realize my presence as you give and gather and build a reality for yourself, as i am burrowing deep inside of your very core. my intent is to destroy you from the inside-out; to devour your bowels and completely absorb you into myself. and you make it so easy. you deny my existence, no matter how many experts describe me for you. you mock my abilities with your actions and feed me with your thoughts and secret motives. i grow inside of you, making you sick. i am soul-cancer. and the only way to battle me is through humility, but you're refusing treatment, guaranteeing i will be your undoing.
