He is running towards me
in his plasma suit.
I have no time to hide from this devil,
from this brute.
So I run towards him
just as fast,
and I use my wings
to enhance my head-on dash.
Pow! A cascade
of red and white dust!
He’s channeling deceit,
and I’m working with trust!
We take the battle to the sky
amongst thunder and lightning
One! Two! I punch away,
but his response is even more frightening…
His body is engulfed in flames,
while his eyes fire heat missiles
To the left, to the right, I duck and dodge,
and then my body and wings rise up like bristles.
He senses my hesitation throwing a fiery dart,
intended to impale.
It pierces my wing spinning me in a frenzy,
I have but one option...to grab his pointed tail.
I trust in good prevailing over evil,
even as I feel the blood trickling down my lowest feather,
Firmly in my grasp,
I feel destined that I will return him to the nether.
Everything is a blur, as we spin
tail over wings and horns over halo,
Are we headed for
heaven or hell, I do not know.
