The Same Heaven

If I could look into your eyes
one more time, what would I see?
The same heaven, I suppose,
I glimpsed during my first
flight with an angel.
But I walk and talk with that angel
every single day — never a memory
removed or whisper
too far away.

There are no edges to my loving now.
I’ve heard it said there’s a window that opens
        From one mind to another,
But if there’s no wall, there’s no need
For fitting the window, or the latch.
                                                        –Rumi
