The Sagacious Ancient One

Oh ye tortoise The longest living land animals in the world You who bear the weight of the world on your back and yet walks with a palatial gait From your hovel, you watched the hills and valleys mate The oceans and seas retreat Large four legged beast extinct And smaller two legged emanate Oh ye tortoise You who walk slowly but never afraid of a race You who feel safe and protected in its own house You who walk on your toes like an elephant Discerning with your eyes almost like it's squinting Oh ye tortoise One of the world most amazing diggers With front legs armoured with sturby scales Adorned with your clandestine ears Carvernous bladder like a cauldron And brawny beak for shredding and grinding foods For decades, you epitomized wisdom and cunningness Unchanged since prehistoric times Misconstrued for turtles Still men can't seem to decipher your morphology.
