The Saga Continues

LOVELESS LOVE, MEANINGLESS WORDS, FEARS UNSPOKEN, CRIES UNHEARD
Her cries go unheard, because her mom is so selfishly in love, that she denies the truth.
While her child’s innocents are being stolen, she’s being raped of her youth.
And all she can say is “Don’t you want mommy to be happy? You know it’s not good
to lie”
And then she sweeps up the shattered pieces of her heart under the rug and goes
on with her life.
Just accepting the circumstances, only concerned with the notion of being some
lying man’s wife
While he’s caressing her with his left hand,
He’s molesting her daughter with his right
And she suppresses the idea as long as there’s someone there to hold her at night.
And the saga continues
LOVELESS LOVE, MEANINGLESS WORDS, FEARS UNSPOKEN, CRIES UNHEARD
Daughters all grown up and mommy has to live with the fact that she accepted a
man and rejected her child.
And she can no longer cover it up with a hug and a smile.
And all the while her daughters hating herself, rapidly losing, and abusing herself
Constantly giving the center of herself, until there is nothing left
Only the memories of her rapist sheltered in her head
The nightmares, of him crawling in her bed
And after not finding the love that she longed for, the love she so desperately
needed and didn’t receive at home.
She tuned to the streets, pregnant with a little girl of her own
And the saga goes continues
LOVELESS LOVE, MEANINGLESS WORDS, FEARS UNSPOKEN, CRIES UNHEARD
And still cries go unheard because she’s addicted, with her lips wrapped around
pipe, Or on the corner turning tricks,
And once he’s tired of swimming in her bottomless pit
She offers, him her little girl for a five dollar hit.
While she’s in her bedroom, music blasting getting high, turning up the volume so
that she won’t hear the cries.
Her baby in the next room, fighting for her life, and yelling “MOMMY WHY?”
But she can’t answer that question, because she doesn’t know why.
And like the revolving door that lies between her thighs, the depth of her darkness
is so far and wide.
Perhaps this is all she knows, trading sex for nonexistent love, a roof over her head,
for food and for drugs.
Because she’s still trapped in the mind of the child, who felt her stepfather’s hands
across her chest and down her pants
So traumatized by her past that maybe she never had a chance.
She goes on selling her daughter until the little girl grows up and all she’s ever
known is satisfying a man’s warped and twisted touch.
And the saga continues
