The SAG Awards

It’s fun to watch Awards shows, Though they’re shallow and they’re trite – Stars all gathering together For an ego-boosting night. Yet the SAG Awards montages Showing actors at their start Captured images of younger days That set the show apart. From childhood roles and little parts In soaps or SVU, We got to see performers When their jobs were spanking new. The lucky ones who have careers Which grow, improve and last Might be mortified or tickled by These glimpses of the past.

The stars have so much. I always think the excess gifts at their tables when they return from the stage, is very silly. I've seen small diamond bracelets, bottles of champagne, perfumes.. Enough already. That being said I liked the last line of your first stanza. Although, I will confess with guilt, I love watching the beautiful gowns walk down the red carpet. A double standard of mine, I guess. :)

Enjoyed your observations, Ilene. I know David Bowie was always embarrassed by ‘The Laughing Gnome”… but I always enjoyed it… I guess there’s no accounting for taste.
