The Sacrifice

Livin for the will to die To fight for the night Dying for the midnight sky I slept in the light Never wanting to live Cut through my broken skin Never wanted to give Burning seas of eyes again Stepping into the pyre Falling deep in denial Hung my neck on a wire Lost myself for a while They’re shattered and worn These finger tips of mine In weathering the storm My sunshine undefined Dying for the will to live Defending order of the light Giving all I have to give Sleeping in the winter night
