The 'Run' Ran Out On You

Whatever next?
You say that this life isn't enough
Yearning with a need to feel the rush
Excitement found on deadly ground
Feet on fire dancing to the latest sound

Whatever next?
When too much is not enough
When being bad beats outright the niceties of being good
Adrenaline pumping means never stopping!
Mind absorbs the nature of every sin

Whatever next?
A faster car? A faster life? A memory scar?
Must see, must have, can't be, can't have!
Can't see the past, the future must be had
Must feel the feel, must taste the now
Can't stop for you, can't tread your ground

Whatever next?
No meaning, no way. Not in with the groove, you're so passé
Don't know, don't care
Get out of my way!

Whatever next will you do?
You burned the people all around you because they became so 'un-cool'
You couldn't stop, you couldn't stand still
Must be in the craze, must have the latest pill!
The brakes came on when you couldn't stop
Life caught up with you and the bubble popped!

Not 20 no more! Can't burn through the night like before!
Body now feels the cold, mind can't take no more
You chased the chase, but the 'run' ran out on you
You can't accept that you're only human too!
Introductions were fine, but then..... they bring questions to you!

Whatever next are you going to do?
