Inspired during one of my Himalaya tour
Viewed from the snow covered mountain
Slopes laden with flower beds like
Colorful vase of flowers
I saw the* the Himalayan rose
I asked, “Why are you all alone?
Beauty is to be adored”
You should give yourself before
Your petals fall to dust”.
Quick came the response from rose
“Am not lonely, enjoy these heights
Shelter of blue umbrella”.
I asked if I crush your petals
Rose said he would be glad
Its fragrance will radiate.
Purpose of life fulfilled
If destroyed not admired.
As I was about to pluck it,
It said,*Stop, give a second thought”.
“If you truly love me
Better leave it on my stem
If still cannot resist the desire
Pluck me but respect the thorns
As your lady has pins and needles
In case you don’t feel me
Give it to someone but still
My fragrance will stay in your hands.”
