The Rose
The rose calls to her
Like a lover.
She moves quietly
Across the courtyard
To inhale the soft scent
Of roses as they bloom.
The sun falls gently
On her shoulders
Caressing her with warmth,
And she wonders
If her lover far away
And across the sea
Sees a rose,
Feels the warmth of the sun,
Inhales a soft scent
And thinks of her.
