The Rolling People

We listen to words in the hum of an engine
Missing the engine hum of words
That hum to life inside the engine
Godly speaking words of life:
Humming, living, listening.

We watch time roll with the planets
Missing the planets' roll through time
Rolling through the time of planets
Living round the roll of lives:
Rolling, living, watching.

We speak to god in living voices
Missing words from godly tongues
Speaking through the words of god
Uttering the gods of life:
Godly, lively, utterly.
