The Robber

“Empty your pockets, now make it quick”,
Said the man, holding the gun.
I didn’t realize. I was in shock.
You might say I was stunned.
The first thing I thought was, why me?
How would he know I just got paid?
Ah, but he’s not that stupid, yeah I can see,
He looked like he was actually afraid.
The gun it was shaking, trembling hand.
Though forceful, his voice showed some fear.
So I looked around for anyone, anything.
But, alas, no one was near.
Though time was running so quickly by,
This moment seemed to have lasted forever.
My wish was that I didn’t take this route
And walked elsewhere, all together.
But, there I was, yes, about to give in,
When all of a sudden…some noise.
Thankfully, coming up the path
Was a group of about 6 teen boys.
The guy with the gun, well he turned to see
And then he quickly just ran away,
I wish I had thought a lot quicker to stop him,
Because now, he can rob another day.
