The Roads Never Traveled
I walk down to the end of an open road
I turn and look right and then look left;
there are two roads of choice,
which direction do I choose?
Where may they lead me?
I look up because I trust that direction,
so I decide to close my eyes and flip a coin
since I am certain that whichever way
it lands that will be my predestined choice.
I flip it in the air then open my eyes to see the result.
The coin does not land flat but instead rolls out of my sight!
I searched and searched but could never find that damn coin.
After thinking that nothing ever goes right
I thought again and shouted,
"Perhaps this is where I am supposed to be after all!"
Many times I have pondered about looking for that
silly small coin, but something always stops me...
I look up at the two roads - the ones I never traveled -
and realize that that has made all the difference for me.
