Notes About The Poem

The Road To Nowhere

Depression sneaks in like an unwanted guest,
You see the glass half empty, and forget you are blessed.
It colors your attitude as it creeps in and invades,
You wonder if God is even listening after you have prayed.

It is hard to shake feelings of despair,
If you let it take hold, it’s a road to nowhere.
I want to hear the music again, and feel the desire to dance,
I hope God hears my prayer, and gives me another chance.

Hi Brenda, just checking in as a fellow traveler all too familiar with this road! Love the simplicity of your writing, very clear and to the point. Looking forward to reading more of your work. Take the best of care.

I was going through my pictures for my Mom, and got the blues after seeing all those years of memories with my ex. I put the Pandora's box back in the closet to stay.

A wonderful poem, like a tree, when we are ready to shake it and taste the fruit. The same is with spirit. When you are in high mood, the fruit is sweet. The same is the life, colored by our feelings. Best regards.
