The Road Not Traveled

Walking upon the road
That seems to lead nowhere clear
Day or night, no difference
Their sense, gone, alone.

Not so long ago,
There was music in the air
Their was a dance in my step
I wasn't alone.

I walked with my love
There was sunshine in the air
Fragrance, sweet to the senses
Then it was no more.

All was gone like smoke
Upon a road that goes on
But where it leads, I care not
And I stopped my walk.

Sudden presence close
A faint light dances nearby
Looked up to see the moon
That speaks to my soul.

Lingers, its soft glow
Urging me to move onward
Upon the road not traveled
Soon, where, it will show.

A new place to go
And I can walk with a song
Day or night, no difference
My soul now aglow.

Don't get off the road, Caroline you have found the place you are searching for. By the way you are only the second person I have met that spells their name the same as mine. I am Mary Cecile but was shortened to Marycile and now I go by Cile in my writing. Glad to meet you. God Bless, Cile

To walk a lonely but assured road could give lasting pay-offs than those often-travelled & busy alleys with oblivion-terminals … now, sister, a thousand congras for this final resolve! You’ve gotten more than one thousand angels to accompany along this new-found wonderful route into the only lasting bliss! Cheers! Canny
