The Road I left behind

I found two ways within the mist,
One well-known, the other missed.
One was straight and full of cheer,
The other twisted, lone, unclear.

I chose the path where others tread,
No fears to face, no doubts to dread.
But as I walked, the noise grew loud,
A restless heart within me vowed.

The silent path still called my name,
A whisper soft, yet just the same.
"What if you'd listened? What if you'd tried?"
Not just with eyes, but deep inside.

The road I chose feels incomplete,
A dream half-lived, a fate not sweet.
But breath and heart still light my way,
Perhaps that path still calls me today.
