The River of Life
Our lives can be compared to a rivers flow,
Sometimes smooth, sometimes turbulent but we never really know which way to go.
In general we usually take the course with least resistance,
In our minds eye we are headed for paradise in some far off distance.
But like the river, we often never meet our true goal,
For like the river we need the turbulence to cleanse our soul.
We need the turbulence to build our strength, character, and guide our ways,
Till we reach still waters and bluer skies to brighten our days.
And our children are our tributaries and branches each leading a different way,
Each cutting their own path, struggling day by day.
Sometimes our lives are shallow, while other times quite deep.
But God gave us wisdom and choices, and if we follow Him a Promise of salvation, but it’s
His Words we must always keep.
