The Ritual

I’ll sit in a cafe with a tea and a grin,
Wondering which version of "Me" should begin.
Do I lead with the humour? The hobby? The scar?
Or just pray they don’t mention their favorite car?

It’s a gamble, a circus, a strange little dance,
A marathon sprint for a glimmer of chance.
But here goes the plunge—let the madness commence,
I’m back in the market (and losing my sense).

Note to self:
If they ask if you're "adventurous" on the first date,
remember that "trying a new brand of cereal" does not count as a personality trait.
