The Rise and Fall of Notes

Several fingers dance on piano keys
In concert halls playing music to please
The melody rises, falls in a wave
The audience captured, with voices rave.

Music for eons has nurtured the soul
Inspired by composers, they reached their goal
While others with words created a tune
As thoughts and feelings were heard all too soon.

Poetry rose through the ages of man
Creating life with their words, with their hand
As footprints of notes on parchment they laid
Lines formed together, as onward they played.

Ears hearing the notes, eyes reading the word
The music of poetry forever heard.
