The Ride

From the second of conception Time begins its endless ride Always traveling faster and faster Leaving each breath behind But we have no choice We joined the ride before we knew better Now, most of us are well beyond our prime Still riding that ride Collecting memories and feelings Loving and losing the way the ride intended We are hoping it will not end too soon But also hoping it will end when the time is right However, we do not have a choice Whenever the conductor comes around He will look carefully at our ticket He will be the one to decide what station is ours When he does that it is when our ride ends And he won’t care as our ride leaves without us © Poem – ***/X/MMXXIV LRET
