The Return That Always Breaks Me
The Return That Always Breaks Me
How much longer must I wait to hear your voice touching my name like a prayer divine,
as if the name still belongs to me to see you saying goodbye once again,
as if goodbye is the only sacred liturgy you ever learned for me alone,
yes I am hurt and it's unbearable for I love you in a way that makes me shadow.
I love you in a way that makes me seem guilty of a crime unwritten in the stars,
and the bitterest part is that my eyes confess before your lips ever do,
how much longer must I suffer until you return not to heal but to leave me wounded,
a wound of longing that bleeds in my chest as if my heart learns how to die ritual.
How much longer must I live half alive half buried in a cosmic grave eternal,
breathing like a sacred punishment sleeping like a curse that never breaks apart,
you took the version of me that believed love was gentle now love is hunger pure,
a metaphysical hunger that consumes me slowly like a green fire burning forever within.
I wonder when this cosmic silence will shatter when the world will see my flight,
but the truth is I'm not hiding sacred wings I'm hiding wounds I folded my love,
like a letter to angels I never sent I buried feelings like treasures in the ground,
I swallowed tears like poison and told myself be strong as if strength replaces you.
Tell me when you're coming back not because I'm ready but because I'm tired now,
tired of being strong tired of checking the door in my mind when the world goes quiet,
hoping it's you tell me when you're coming back to break me in the same sacred place,
to reopen the wounds that closed is it your habit or your divine nature to bring absence?
You bring distance wearing cosmic perfume you bring goodbye hidden in celestial greeting,
and I run to you like a mad pilgrim who forgets pain when seeing the one adored,
maybe I'm not in love maybe I'm addicted to your voice to your magical presence entire,
addicted to the way you ruin me tell me is it easy to disappear and return always?
While I gather pieces of my soul like fragments of shattered crystal on the floor,
because every time you leave I die like a candle giving up in the empty temple lost,
I know you're meant to break me maybe it's your cosmic fate written in constellations,
but I fight against destiny because I don't believe you were made to destroy me whole.
I don't believe love must feel like an eternal and cruel karmic punishment divine,
I don't believe God wrote my name next to suffering just because I adore you so,
my heart my foolish heart still believes there's something more than this cycle here,
still believes you'll return differently that you'll stay that you'll understand how I bled.
I bled in mystical silence just to keep loving you like a goddess worshipped pure,
but maybe my heart lies to me the way hope always lies like a gentle sorceress kind,
tell me when you're coming back to break me more or shatter me completely this time,
because if you're coming back to leave again then come like an apocalyptic sacred storm.
Come like the cosmic ending come like the final farewell ritual written in ancient runes,
so I can finally stop waiting in my grave like a man who still believes somehow,
believes that death will transform into divine mercy tell me when you're coming back love,
when you're coming back to break me definitively or heal me forever in the end at last.
