John Aaron Green Poet Free verse

The Return

The world is on fire with selfishness,

filled in every heart is sin.

 The day of reckoning, is at hand,

who is worthy, who is damned.

 The spirit calls the elect, to spread the news,

did we give, or did we lose.

 We desperately try to understand,

no enlightening, from man.

 Only the spirit of God is to share,

what he can reveal to the dyeing fare.

 With the sound of the army, the return is near,

some will praise, many will fear.
