The Return
Take a long look
through the looking glass
see how the land
you have known
has changed
Shadows which
blocked
the sunlight
are now blown by
the west wind
warmth
returns to the land
to the fields, the forests
the towns
yet the bitter winter
winds
Have left their
mark
On all of us
Can spring
revive us?
Will the shoots that
rise up through the
verdant earth
Renew us?
Creatures of nature
that we are
We need to see the
rebirth of the land
We need to know
that once again
beautous flowers - a riot of
colors
Will grace out fields, forests and towns
Through even the harshest winter
Spring always returns
To dance her dance
before our delighted eyes
