The Retreat
Enough is enough -no more of the heat
We have been hit by the climate with
(Or it is we who have made the nature
Behave so wildly? Future will say)
For the present I need to go to a retreat
For a change from the summer ire
To a week of your cold fire
You have not been granting me
I am sure in Thimpu, Punakhan and Paro
Amidst the sub-Himalayan flora and fauna
In the icy shade of the sublime Himalayas
You will offer your soft and cool sun
In order will come my poems undone
For lavish green hills with larks in the blue sky
With the chirping birds you will obviously be by
Though an acute absence will curb my satisfaction
The probable deficit in electronic communication
But then to gain something for your soul
You have to compromise something materially
The summer heat got to be too much
Very badly I am in need of your cool touch
The magnificent Himalayas calls me in its peaceful valley
Where diamonds of peace gladly offer their hands of love
