Notes About The Poem

July 17, 2024, placed 2nd in Joseph May's Paint a Picture contest

The Retirement Chair

Where I’ll rock and reminisce,
read leisurely in freedom’s bliss,
take my time writing poetry,
entertain grandkids, one per knee,
call loved ones I miss

I wonder why a rocking chair is always associated with retirement life. It is evident that relaxation is possible only after retirement. It is the time we can freely engage in activities of our choice. A beautiful poem, dear Janice.
