The Resident
The resident
eaks out a living through food, sleep, shuffling, and more sleep
content to sometimes merely sit
head to chest
eyes clamped shut
breath
staggared and rough
often
smooth and easy
day by day
life carries on despite the world going on outside the home
Companionship
is found through
a greek only speaking gentleman
who shares her lunch table
~she only speaks english
still
somehow they communicate and they're together
for a lunchtime
not lonely
other times I am sure
the dark tentecles of loneliness grip their souls and wind tight
until breath
it's laboured premorbid gasp
lays waste to life
