The Red Rose of Eternal Love - Part 1

Here I sit musing
Alone, except for pinot noir
I take out a knife
To pierce my heart
And let the blood flow into a dish
Now I have the ink to write
I can barely breathe
So I must be fast with pen
As I etch out my dreams on paper
Blood tells the story of my life
The redness of my desires is now known to you
I have stained the paper with a crimson tear
For this I am sorry
I have smeared this declaration
Of my undying love
Even a teardrop, can not destroy
My everlasting hope
That you know
I love you

I love this and the second half but I'm curious why not merge them together to make them one write.
