The Red In My Eyes Is From the Rose That I Missed

Nothings new with me
I’m just falling again
On this vice that I carry
It seems like my only friend

The patches on my heart
Hold together in a pinch
But the red in my eyes
Is from the rose that I missed

What I didn’t pick hurts me
It’s like it’s thorn found a home
A blessing gone unanswered
Leaves me feeling alone

While love still lingers
I search for a fix
The red in my eyes
Is from the rose that I missed

What once was white
Like when we were just friends
Has turned into something
I can’t comprehend

It’s love but I’m lonely
As I look in the mirror
Hoping that someday
We’ll both see so much clearer

The red in my eyes
Is from the rose that I missed
The wanting and yearning
From one long gone lost kiss

If I had to write it
You’re be on top of my list
The red in my eyes
Is from the rose that I missed

I’m drinkin tonight
Here I am once again
Gluttony relieves
Yet it’s still a sin

I’m goin down a long road
In search of the gift
The red in my eyes
Is from the rose that I missed

I’ve longed to hold you
And share in a kiss
The red in my eyes
Is from the rose that I missed

The red in my eyes
Is from the rose that I missed
